We got so tired on our first day in Negros Occidental that I couldn't remember if we had dinner the day before. Nevertheless, upon waking up, we decided to have our brunch at the Old Pala-Pala once again. On our way there, we decided to pass by the Capitol Park and the Lagoon.
The main feature of the park are the two sculptures located at the opposite ends of the lagoon. the first sculpture depicts a woman standing beside a water buffalo. The second one depicts a man pulling another water buffalo.
The Italian sculptor, Francesco Riccardo Monti, executed the two figures in the park. His other works can be found at the Metropolitan Manila Theatre, and at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas-Iloilo city campus. Philippine National Artist for Sculpture, Guillermo Tolentino, also contributed as a sculptor of the figures.
Another landmark in the park is the grand Negros Occidental Capitol Building.
